Eating

The focus is on food

In the General Tarleton kitchen, John heads an experienced and dedicated team.  Menus change daily to reflect the seasons and the pick of the catch or crop that day.  John gets a call most days from the fishing boats as they return to port and within hours the fish is in the kitchen.  Yorkshire has an abundance of excellent suppliers and we have worked with them over the years to obtain the very best seasonable produce for the GT.

The General Tarleton has established a reputation for its fresh seafood and John's signature dish Little Moneybags; seafood parcels in lobster sauce, have become something of a legend in these parts.

Children are very welcome and the GT has put together a super menu for children packed with home-made dishes tried and tested by John and Claire's 3 children.
